At the University of Groningen, I have implemented a new authentication mechanism for logging in students and teachers into various educational applications. For this, I introduced an authentication server that allows other applications to connect and obtain a JWT token. This token can then be used throughout the system to manage authentication and authorization. With this solution, authentication is managed centrally, allowing users to log in once for multiple applications.
